Dat Mui

25 June

Today I travelled to the point generally considered the end of southern Vietnam, Dat Mui.  I believe boats leave regularly from the nearby town, but I decided to take the easy option and had the hotel organise a boat, so I had a speedboat to myself, leaving from the hotel itself.

It was great to see the area from the river, although we were travelling too fast for much photography.  Near the end we were travelling through some quite narrow canals in the mangroves, and I was happy to see quite a few kingfishers.

The entrance from the boat dock.
This is a restaurant.
You could walk out a long way along the ocean, but very few people went much further than the monument.
The place to have your photo taken.
Along the edge of the mangroves were a lot of crabs.
There were also a lot of mudskippers.
I suspect this guy put in a lot more effort to get here than I did.

In the evening I had dinner in the hotel restaurant again – there are not really any other options here.

Onion omelette, for the appetiser.
Beef and onion. I think I overdid the onion in this meal.
