Fabulous day today at Kyneton, doing a course combining woodwork and cooking. The morning was spent in the workshop at Rundell & Rundell, learning to use the lathe and make a rolling pin and pastry “dolly”. Glen was a great teacher and we all finished the morning with results we could be proud of.
For the afternoon we went to the Piper Street Food Co. where we had lunch, and then used our new tools to make traditional style pork pies. Damian had a wealth of knowledge to share with us, and we ended up with three pies each (one in a tin, two formed on the pastry dolly” as well as a container of piccalili.
It was a really good day, and I would highly recommend the courses at either (or both!) of these places.
