Melbourne parks and buildings

I spent a few hours today walking around Melbourne and taking some photos of some of the parks and buildings.

Treasury Gardens and the Victorian Emergency Services Memorial
St Patrick’s Cathedral. Lots of amazing detail, right at the top where you can barely see it.
This building was across the road from St Patricks Cathedral, and I really liked the detail and finishing.
Parliament Gardens, with monument to Pastor Sir Douglas and Lady Gladys Nicholls. “This is the first memorial statue in Melbourne dedicated to two Aboriginal community leaders, Pastor Sir Doug and Lady Gladys Nicholls. They vigorously fought for the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples across this country and are an eternal symbol of our ongoing history and commitment to human rights in Australia”
The Princess Theatre is a beautiful building, but unfortunately the amount of clutter around it makes it very hard to see.
Some modern buildings have extra details too, even if the style is a bit different to the old gargoyles.
Carlton Gardens and the Exhibition Building
Various buildings around town. The fountain is a memorial to the victims of the Bali bombing.
A random carving I passed at Melbourne University, and the central tower of the Melbourne University Systems Garden. There are a lot of really great plants here, arranged into subclasses and families of plants.
This has to be the best insect hotel I have ever seen!
