Nimmon’s Bridge, Ballarat Art Gallery
The weather was very wet again this morning, and as I was driving out to see an old railway bridge on the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail I was just hoping the rain would clear enough for me to have a look. Fortunately it did, although there was still a bit of drizzle and the wind was pretty fierce.

I headed back in to Ballarat to visit the Art Gallery. The gallery had a really good collection, and I was particularly impressed by the current exhibition of work by Eugene von Guérard. There were a lot of paintings of places around Victoria, and the quality and use of light was amazing. There were also a number of his sketchbooks, which contained incredible detailed and accurate sketches. I did not atta,pt to take any photos of his work, o photo could do it justice.

The afternoon was still fairly wet, so after a bit of a drive around Ballarat and Lake Wendouree I was happy to go to my accommodation and spend the afternoon hanging out with the resident dogs.
