McAlpin Reserve
McAlpin Reserve is a small reserve in North Ringwood. It has a lake, playground and BBQs, and was very popular with dog walkers while I was there. It would be very easy to never notice this reserve, as it is tucked away from the road.

Cardinia Reservoir Park
Today’s weather was cooler, but very humid with a smoke haze covering everything. I visited Cardinia Reservoir Park, and walked from Crystal Brook Picnic area to Duffey’s Lookout picnic area and back. It was only 600m each way, but was fairly steep uphill to start with.

Ringwood Lake
It has been years since I have been to Ringwood Lake. There has been a lot of work done and it is a beautiful spot – in many places it feels like you are in the middle of the bush rather than the centre of Ringwood.

Dunolly open garden, Belleville
Belleville is an 1860s house which has been lovingly restored by the current owners. The garden was open as part of the Open Gardens scheme, and the owners were generous enough to also show us inside the house, which had been restored to original features where possible. Particularly interesting

St Arnaud
This morning I took a trip to St Arnaud, a nice town with a number of older buildings. The main reason I headed out there was to visit Autralia’s only bible museum. They have an amazing collection of bibles and associated artifacts, including some beautiful illumination and decorated covers.
